Write for The Mac Gamer!

You may have noticed that news has been slower than usual for the past couple months. There are a few reasons for this:

  1. I don’t like regurgitating news items that are already around the web. If you read The Mac Gamer chances are you’ll know about the latest bit o’ tech that will improve your Mac gaming experience and have read the sites that I read. Unless I have something mind blowingly clever to say about a news item, I won’t post about it. I am not going to start being a site that posts information already available just for the sake of posting and traffic. That my friends, is evil.
  2. Things have been slow in the Mac gaming world. While the App Store is gaining god like dominance, I don’t cover most of it. Why? Well, I just don’t use these devices enough for gaming. I prefer Mac titles. But that’s me, and people are different. So obviously I need to cover this segment of what-I-don’t-consider-Mac-gaming-but-probably-is a bit more.
  3. I have a life. I want to spend more time on The Mac Gamer, but with a few new titles coming out that deserve literally hours and hours of playtime to do them justice, I just can’t cover them all. Now, isn’t this contrary to what I said before, that things have been slow? No. Things have been slow, but we still have games coming out - Jack Keane, C&C3, Prince of Persia, etc. Titles that need hours of playtime, careful thought and then a writeup. I just can’t fit ‘em all in when I have to work, go to University, actually speak to people and lavish my cats with attention (and fish).

Now, The Mac Gamer doesn’t make a penny, a dime, a cent or gold. I don’t run advertising and I don’t have any sponsors. One day I’d like to run adverts and get hundreds of thousands of pounds for sponsors who are just dying to grab a few pixels on The Mac Gamer, but that day is yet to come.

So, what am I going to do? Hire you, that’s what! For no money! Woo! But what you will get is a very exclusive The Mac Gamer email address, access to upcoming titles, time to talk to developers and space on the site to say whatever you want to say. I’d love to pay you for writing for The Mac Gamer, I really would. I believe people should be paid a fair amount of sweeties cash for what they do. Once The Mac Gamer starts making some green, and you’re writing for me, you’ll be paid. That’s a promise.

If you have a brain, are able to write intelligently and love Mac gaming, chances are I’ll send a game or two your way. I always choose quality over quantity and expect writing to be interesting, original and not formulaic. Yes, I am asking for a lot…
