WoW: Dwarf vs. Giant

I think I am in my prime at age 25, but when it comes to WoW, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Trying to get time to sit down and play has been a real struggle these last few weeks. Wedding tasks, moving, getting the flu, job; all these things prevent me from leveling up. Despite these hurdles I have gotten some time in.

I created a dwarf, Brulox. This turned out to be more interesting than I anticipated. I told the fiance about my character and that he was a dwarf. She asked if that was the same as a midget/little person. I replied that in some ways, yes they are, height being an example. In others, not at all. Dwarves are much more hostile and more likely to drink than your neighborhood midget. This made some sense to her (most little people we have been in contact with seem to be very well mannered). She then wanted to know if these dwarves were the same as those in the Lord of the Rings, “you know, Frodo style”. Again I explained the differences to her, hoping that tackling it from a genesis perspective might yield some results.

WoW Weekly - Back to Azeroth

WoW Logo.jpg
I am going back to Azeroth. Just my avatar and I…and probably the fiancé (soon to be wife) who will make a few appearances through verbalization. It was four years ago that I was last backpacking across the plains of Azeroth. At the time I was in my last year of my Education degree, with plenty of free time on my hands. Today, I am a high school teacher of four years and am about to embark into a different world, the one known as marriage. Let the grinding begin!
As I was saying, I am about to head back into Azeroth. I hope to experience it from a different perspective than the last time I was consumed by this world. I will try to do this while juggling the planning of a wedding and pleasing my bride to be. All three of those tasks in their individuality, if permitted, have the ability to replace my “real” full time job.
What lies ahead of me is quite unfamiliar. I am sure much has changed in WoW since my last quest. Add to that a significant other that does not play nor understand the allure of video games, and I do believe that I am in for some epic battles. Dear reader, I do not pretend that this journey will be easy, nay, I know it will not. Sleepless hours, tears, epic fights, epic battles, and the possibility of love and hate, lie before me. It is with those realities that I set out.
With hope, I begin the install and the journey back to Azeroth…
