I’ve installed and played Vic Davis’s Solium Infernum on (of course) Boot Camp and VMware Fusion. A poster on the Cryptic Comet forums said he had success with SI under CrossOver.
Lo and behold, Solium Infernum under CrossOver:
Now this begs an observation and a question. What you may not know: SI is the first game that I’ve both wanted to play and have had success within CrossOver. What you may want to answer: Does this apologize for an indie developer who wants to release a Mac version even though it may not make business sense?

Isn’t working with me. What settings (bottles etc.) did you use?
Under CrossOver Games 8.1.3 I created a bottle to house both of Vic’s releases: AE and SI. My Cryptic Comet bottle simulates XP, and I force a 1024×768 virtual desktop from within the graphics tab of the wine configuration.
Hope this helps.
Thanks. Funny… I couldn’t even get the installed program to appear in my programs menu… It’s like it went through the facade of installing it only to be humming away in the background doing Absolutely Nothing At All.
It’s such a shame. I don’t have a windows and this looks like one of those rare gems.
Try looking within the bottle to see if it installed. When I installed SI on my MacBook, I encountered the same thing and so I added the shortcut manually.
