BF2142 1.5 Mac patch: modified content

Modified content. Exsqueeze me?

Trying to install the BF2142 1.5 Mac patch? Remove the game. Reinstall. Do not update to the previous 1.4 patch. Install the 1.5 patch. Voila, no more modified content bollocks.

It seems that the 1.5 patch does not play well with the previous patch. No idea why.

Dumb question, but in uninstalling do you lose your character advancement? As in, do I have to earn my unlocks all over again?

  2. Alex McLarty says:

No, all your character advancements are stored on the EA Master server. Your character is safe! :)

If you’ve got this problem, drop me an email as Transgaming are interested to see what the problem is and they’d like a listing of the files in the BF2142 directory.

I get the above message as well as “The server only allows players with unmodified content to join. Revert your version of Battlefield 2142 to the current official version to join.” I have emailed EA and searched the web. I have reinstalled several times. No luck on anything. Anyone have any ideas? I am going to try one more time, then it is off to the Apple store to buy Quake.

Remove the “Battlefield 2142 Preferences” from your Preferences folder and see what happens…
