ET:QW: Nail ‘em

[singlepic=17,500,295,,center]

Initial fear of ET:QW has given way to admiration. Not only have Aspyr done a stellar job of porting the plucky GDF and gnarly Strogg to the Mac, but id and Splash Damage (the original developers of the game) have created a mutliplayer worthy of attention.

I explained a while ago that the silly fastness of ET:QW in contrast to the simplicity of BF2142 had unnerved me. That has now passed.

Those nerves have been replaced with mecha-organic Strogg parts of the highest calibre, designed to suck brains and snap spines. Yes, I am one of the Strogg. And as the evil Strogg, we don’t use normal weaponry, oh no, we use things like Nail guns. Much more satisfying than the pansy GDF shotgun shotfun. Why? Well, a shotgun makes a shotgun like sound. Blarrr. A Nail gun, well, they sort of go ching. But ching like: “I’ve just cashed a cheque for your ass, ching“. Understand? No, well, get ET:QW.

Also, I usually play the good guy in games. I get the most bestest amount of karma, I save humanity, I save the kids on the bus. But playing as the Strogg, the ugly, patched together with duct-tape Strogg, has awakened the need to destroy all of humanity with nails and oversized Walkers. As Strogg I’d spit karma like chewing tobacco, I’d burn humanity and turn the kids on the bus into a nutritious soup for my Strogg friends. Marvelous.

Any game that makes me evil is worth a shot nail.
